Do you want a different gift idea for Christmas?

I have a few favorite websites that I love visiting often. One of those is Funky Friends Factory. It is an Aussie based business, based in Queensland. Pauline (the owner) designs the most amazing soft toy patterns that are easy to make, most of them can be made in one full day of sewing. Now they have something for those who wouldn't know the front end of the sewing machine from the back. Pauline has recently become involved in a fair trade toy project working with a not-for-profit group in India, Blue Mango.  Pauline has designed the pattern for a special elephant, 'Anu', who is then made by the women of Blue Mango. These elephants are available for purchase from the Funky Friends Factory website, for $39.99 (non-members) and $35.99 (members). Check out the following link http://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/AllAboutOurProducts/Fair_Trade_Toys.aspxy on the Funky Friends Factory website for more information on this wonderful gift idea, that gives so much back to the people involved.

It's been a while

I know it's been a while since I last posted, I have been busy busy busy! I promise! I have just finished a custom order for my Mum, you can't say NO to your Mum now can you?!?  Well, I thought they turned out quite well... They were put in the mail and are now on their merry way. What did I make you ask? Well, they are rather cute, little Christmas Elves, with pointy ears, fluffy white hair and cute little elf shoes, with bells for good measure!

And don't forget, anything bought from my listings in my etsy and artfire store goes into the draw to win special christmas dolls! I have three entrants so far, so you are in with a chance...

Now that my Etsy Store and Artfire Store is now operational, I have a little treat for you all. Everyone who make a purchase from my store from now until midnight (Australian time) 6th of December 2009 will go into a draw to win a free doll. The winner will have a choice of choosing either a little girl baby, wearing a pink 'Babies 1st  Christmas' hat, or a real little boy baby (with all the necessary 'boy' attatchments - hee hee) wearing a blue 'Babies 1st Christmas' hat.

Whoever enters the draw, will be given a number, and a random number generator will choose the winning number. The winning number will be annnounced on my blog on Monday the 7th December (Australian Time).

Fete Day!

The local fete was a bit slow, only a few sales, thankyou to all those people! I found out today, there were 3 other fetes around our northern suburbs today, maybe that's why not many people wanted to play. It wasn't just me, people just weren't spending. Even people near me didn't sell much. Oh well.

One good thing was the networking! Caught up with a few ladies from different craft groups that gave me lots of fantastic ideas! Thankyou ladies!

Maybe better luck next time! (Oh, and sorry about the lack of photos, I forgot my camera!)

Ah the mess!

Well, it just seems as though I am creating mess wherever I go.... My office....

And it isn't just contained to my office, it spreads into the dining room...

Finally it ends, in the lounge room!

The fete is tomorrow, so hopefully, I will have all this finished, and all the mess cleaned up by then!

We will see....

My first official business sale!

I would like to introduce you to Rylan, he was my first official business sale! (Since registering the name that is!) Rylan is just a cutie in his little blue outfit, doesn't he just make your heart melt....

Tia, a teenie tiny preemie....

Tia is just a teenie tiny preemie baby that needs some love and attention. She has string jointed arms and legs, so extra care and attention are needed, just like a real preemie baby. Tia has a little soft sculptured nose and a little tuft of hair. Her blues eyes just make her so adorable. Tia comes with a little knit hat, to keep her little head nice and warm, and a little pick blanket to keep her nice a toasty.

Tia is made from the Teenie Preemie pattern designed by Vicky Riley. Tia will be available for purchase from my Etsy Site as soon as it is operational.

Meet Aria

Aria is one of my first "toddler" style dolls. She is about 11 inches tall, with yellow baby blonde yarn for hair which is oh so soft. She is wearing a breezy summer top with matching panties. Aria is made from the "Summer" pattern designed by Vicky Riley. Aria has a number of small imperfections, due to her being one of my 'first' dolls I made however she is lovely just the same! Click on the Photo for a close up view...

As soon as I have my Artfire Shop fully functional, Aria will be ready for purchase.
